Elementary Program at Hillside Academy

At Hillside Academy, our mission is to inspire future innovators and leaders by focusing on academics, critical thinking, creativity, social skills, and character development. Through a STEAM-based curriculum, we provide a solid academic foundation to prepare students for success in the future.

Academics

We believe that “one size does not fit all.” Our small class sizes and individualized approach ensure that each student receives the support they need to excel. By promoting creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking, we help students build the skills they need to thrive in a 21st-century world.

Critical Thinking

Our project-based curriculum integrates core subjects—such as reading, writing, and math—into hands-on experiences that foster strong critical thinking skills. Through public events like Humanities, Arts, and STEM Expos, students have the opportunity to showcase their learning and demonstrate how they approach challenges. These Expos provide a platform for students to think independently, apply their knowledge creatively, and communicate their thought processes in meaningful ways.

Creativity

Creativity is at the heart of our project-based, interdisciplinary approach to learning. Students engage in a variety of specialized programs, including fine arts and music, that help develop their creative potential. This hands-on, integrated learning encourages students to think outside the box and apply their creative skills in every subject.

Character & Social Development

We foster a love of learning by creating an individualized environment where students can reach their full potential. In addition to academic growth, we emphasize character development by encouraging students to contribute to the betterment of our community and the world. Through the development of relational skills, community awareness, and a focus on others, students grow into responsible, compassionate citizens.

Hillside Academy goes up to 8th grade which is a great option for parents who like the idea of continuity for their children. This also affords the opportunity for the school to really know your child and help tailor their learning in core subjects.
